The actress of MTV’s *The City* and the alleged real-life inspiration behind *Gossip Girl* character Blair Waldorf understandably relished in her choice of bridal apparel. Olivia Palermo and model Johannes Huebl married in an intimate outdoor ceremony, and the Upper East Sider debuted an intriguing and stylish new statement piece. Palermo completed her style with a basic cashmere sweater, striking royal blue Manolos, and a Carolina Herrera wedding skirt. She also added a bold pair of crip, white shorts.
“They had pulled out so many beautiful creations from floor-skimming numbers fit for royalty to tea-length dresses ideal for midday ceremonies, but it was an innocuous skirt overlay that caught my eye,” Palermo said on her website afterwards. “I knew that when combined with simple silk faille shorts, the look would transition from daytime ceremony to nighttime reception with elegance and ease. As for the top, I often get cold, so I chose a Carolina Herrera cashmere sweater with tonally coordinated bejeweled feathers at the hem. I kept those features tucked under the skirt for the ceremony, but it looked great at the party with just the shorts.”
